What are user questions?
User questions are questions that people enter into a search engine such as Google. People are therefore looking for answers or solutions to specific questions/challenges. Google itself provides answers to frequently asked questions asked on the topic in search results. You’ve probably seen the “People also ask” element:
Why should I bother with user questions?
User questions will help you increase traffic to your website, build trust with your (prospective) customers, and increase Google rankings — because user questions help you understand what users truly want to know about a given topic (or keyword).
Search engines exist to provide answers. That’s why they prefer sites that help users and anticipate and answer the users’ questions. Doing so will increase your site’s relevance significantly — and its rankings along with it.
Users use search engines to find answers to their questions and challenges; how to get somewhere, how to do something, what or where to buy something, and more. If you want to know what engages people about a keyword or topic, you will find the answer to the questions they ask. User questions are perfect for ensuring your content addresses the things that matter to people.
A person will stay on your site, interact with it and become a (potential) customer if they feel you help them or like the content you offer.
Answers build trust.
People tend to return to places where they feel taken seriously and understood and are met with helpfulness and support. If you address their questions about a topic and provide easy-to-understand and helpful answers, you’re likely to become their go-to person on that topic. So people will keep coming back to you — online and offline.
Question titles increase Click Through Rate.
A pro tip is to include the user question in a page’s meta title. This way, the question will become your search result’s title. By doing so, users can be sure that your content deals with their questions and will provide them with an answer.
Studies show search results that contain and answer W-questions (who, what, why, where...) or with question marks in the title receive 14.1% more clicks than search results that do not contain W-questions in the title.
